7 Australian universities make it onto annual university rankings, you could study there too!
If you have considered studying in Australia you would not be making a mistake. Earlier this week when the annual QS rankings were announced 7 of Australia’s 43 universities and tertiary educational institutions made it onto the list of top 100 universities in the world for 2014/2015. More than 22123 universities were in the running for this list and ranking under the top 100 is a huge achievement.
Australia further impresses on the list with 5 universities placed among the first 50 universities in the world!
How do you go about applying for an Australian Study Permit?
New World Immigration says that an Australian student visa enables successful applicants to travel to and study as a full-time student in any of the Australian tertiary institution – which might include one of the seven excellent universities on the Top-100 list.
One of the conditions for this visa is that the education provider you have selected must be recognised by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection as an eligible institution to offer courses to International Students.
Mr Robbie Ragless, CEO of New World Immigration, said, “An Australian student visa is ideal for you if you are participating in an International Student Exchange Program. It is also appropriate for students who are enrolled in a registered vocational education and training course as a full time student in Australia.”
You would also qualify for an Australian Student Visa if you are enrolled in a registered course to be awarded a Bachelor or Associate Degree, a Graduate Certificate or Diploma, a Higher Education or Advanced Diploma, a Master Degree by coursework, a Master Degree by Research and/or a Doctorate.
Students are able to apply for this permit either in Australia or aboard, but if you are applying for a Student Visa while you are in Australia you must be in possession of a legal temporary visa without restrictions that will prevent you from qualifying for any further Australian visas. It is also important to note that part of the conditions of the visa is that foreigners must be outside the country while the visa is decided.
An Australian Student Visa allows holders to work for up to 20 hours per week – which could help contribute to your student expenses!
This visa allows for multiple entries in to Australia meaning you could visit your South African family at any time.
Visas of this nature allow you to remain in the country for the official duration of your course and should you have any accompanying dependents they too will be allowed in the country for the same duration.
Australian authorities will also grant an extension to your student visa should it be necessary and you are able to substantiate your application for an extension.
What are the Financial Requirements?
“This visa requires that you provide evidence that you have access to sufficient funds to pay for your travel to and from Australia as well as your tuition and living expenses,” says Mr Ragless.
“If you have a partner and dependent children accompanying you on this visa you must be able to provide evidence for all parties included in the application at the time of lodgement of this application.”
You will find all the information you need when applying for this visa by visiting the New World Immigration website at www.nwivisas.com or speak to one of their professional immigration agents who will be able to give you good advice and up to date information.
