VETASSESS has announced that its assessors will be returning to South Africa to begin conducting offshore practical assessments for licenced trades.
They plan to assess the occupations of Plumber, Electrician, and Air-Conditioning or Refrigeration Mechanic in South Africa in June and July.
VETASSESS will continue to negotiate for additional international assessment locations, and practical assessments in other countries will resume later this year.
The first spaces are being granted to candidates who have been waiting for the longest, and those applicants are being notified when times and sites become available.
Applicants in the licenced trades of Electrician, Plumber, and Air-Conditioning or Refrigeration Mechanic must pass a practical exam for migration to Australia.
This is good news for Australian prospective migrants from South Africa who have been patiently waiting for their chance to have their skills assessed, as it may act as the catalyst for them to move one step closer to landing on Australian soil as a skilled migrant.
