In the last few days, there have been numerous updates in the Canadian Immigration sphere. There are more and more signs that things are beginning to return to normalcy.
We first saw the incredible update of all approved permanent residents having their travel restrictions lifted and being able to enter Canadian borders with immediate effect to complete their immigration.
The Canadian government has also updated quarantine requirements, removing many of the quarantine and testing requirements for those who enter Canada fully vaccinated. These travellers will still require an exemption from the current restrictions.
The IRCC is contacting each applicant who has been approved but has yet to immigrate and whose travel documents have expired to re-open their file and proceed with the re-issuance of their travel documents. This procedure was recently updated to include those who were approved after the March 18, 2020 deadline.
In terms of applications for Permanent Residency that are still being processed, we are beginning to see subtle signs that the finalization of these applications is progressing gradually. We anticipate that these approvals will be issued in the near future based on our interactions with the IRCC and the most recent updates.
Furthermore, the IRCC confirmed that timelines for certain aspects of the process have been shortened in an effort to reduce processing times on all applications and increase the IRCC's capacity to process more applications.
We are very excited for the coming weeks and months because we have seen an increase in IRCC activity, and we are hopeful that many of our clients will be able to continue their immigration process. With all of these updates, it can only mean that they are already planning to resume the draws.
There has never been a better time to start and be ready when the draws resume!
