Business Permit Requirements
The Department of Home Affairs is looking to attract more investors into South Africa to boost our economy. Below we discuss the requirements needed when applying for a business permit.
The Department of Home Affairs legislation clearly outlines that a applicant needs to invest a minimum of R 2,5 million within the business.
Within the first 2 years, the business needs to employ at least 5 South Africans or permanent residents. This needs to be clearly outlined in the business permit as to how much jobs will be created and the salary for each position.
In order to get your business permit, you would need to register your company and register with SARS for tax purposes.
The Department of Home Affairs would like to see that the company will be managed in the correct manner and to see that it will be a success as this will create jobs for many South Africans.
