Home Affairs claims to have cleared all backlog permits
Home Affairs has announced that all visa’s processed under the new immigration regulations will be ready within 3 weeks. All applicants who have applied for any visa under the old immigration regulations will have to a few months before receiving the visa.
In this week’s media briefing, the newly appointed minister MR Gigaba has told the media that all backlog permits has been processed and cleared.
If Home Affairs claims they have processed all backlog permits then why are so many foreigners still waiting for the outcome of their visa and why are applications still being lost by inadequate poorly trained staff members?
The new immigration regulations have been in place to tighten up our borders and maximize our security but yet the department itself is inefficient to do a proper job within its own walls.
The Department has recently outsourced it immigration management process and claims the following;
• 3 weeks to process a work permit
• Permanent Residency would take 3 months to process
• Student visas will take 3 days to process
