The Critical Skills Visa requires no experience; however professional accredited bodies often require you to have at least 3 years experience when applying for membership.

Applicants can apply for membership by contacting the Actuarial Society of South Africa.

Where can I submit my application?

If you are a first time applicant, then an application for a Critical Skills Visa must be lodged abroad in your country of residence. If you are currently in South Africa and using a valid South African work visa, then only are you allowed to apply for a change of status in South Africa.

Can I apply for Permanent Residency using a Critical Skills Visa?

Yes, any applicant who can prove 5 years work experience may apply for Permanent Residency immediately.
