Why do I need to pay the Repatriation Fee to Home Affairs!

Why do I need to pay the Repatriation Fee to Home Affairs!

When applying for a temporary residence permit or visa, the Department of Home Affairs requires one to pay Repatriation fees.

So you probably asking yourself, why do I need to pay this fee? Now the aim or purpose of this fee is to reassure the Department of Home Affairs that a foreign applicant can return to their country even if the applicant has no funds available.

The Repatriation fee differs for each country but the Department has a fixed amount for each country. In certain cases the Repatriation fee can be avoided. Contact us and find out if this applies to you as we would conduct a free assessment with you.

The Repatriation fee is refundable and will only be refunded when you leave South Africa for good or upon approval of your permanent residency. In order to claim your fee, you would need to show your original payment receipt or else the Department of Home Affairs will refuse to refund you.

New World Immigration will inform you of the expected Repatriation fees as part of our service. Make an enquiry now and let’s get your visa approved now!
